Set 01

Gradual shifts in light and color alter the perception of the installation and its surrounding space. As brightness and color change over time, the structure appears to shift in depth and spatial presence, allowing the same physical environment to be perceived differently over time.

Set 02

The interplay of light and movement translates the cyclical rhythm of sunrise and sunset into a kinetic experience. The gradual rise and fall of the light source, accompanied by an emerging and receding red gradient, creates a shifting sense of time that echoes the rhythm of dawn and dusk.

Set 03

An interactive light installation that responds to touch, grasp, and proximity. A 3-axis accelerometer and capacitive fiber translate subtle bodily gestures into shifts in light, controlling the LEDs’ on/off state and brightness.

Set 05

A large-scale media facade installation presenting video across the architectural surface of the building. Set against a cosmic landscape, the video unfolds through changes in light, color, and motion across the facade.

Thermochromic pigments respond to repeated cycles of heating and cooling, causing the surface image to gradually disappear and reappear over time. Alongside the panels, a video presents spherical forms that bounce and accumulate within the frame. The two works explore change through material and digital processes.

Anne Yeoji Kim

Based between Boston, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island
Anne Yeoji Kim is an interdisciplinary artist and designer whose practice bridges textiles, light, digital media, and electronic systems. With a foundation in textile and material practice, she expands approaches to surface and structure through physical computing, programmable light, projection, movement, and custom-built electronic and mechanical systems.

Her practice moves between hands-on material processes and computational and engineering-based methods. Working with textiles and translucent materials alongside LEDs, sensors, microcontrollers, motors, circuits, real-time media, and digital fabrication, Kim develops both the physical structures and technological systems that shape her installations. Rather than treating technology as separate from material practice, she approaches code, circuitry, light, and movement as materials with their own behaviors, rhythms, and spatial qualities.

Through this interdisciplinary approach, Kim creates installations and spatial works that explore perception, temporality, and the relationship between the body and its environment. Her practice brings together material sensitivity and technological experimentation, using light, movement, and time to continually reshape how space is perceived.

Currently based between Boston, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island, Kim holds an MFA in Textiles from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). She currently works on interdisciplinary art, technology, and perception-based projects at the MIT Museum Studio and Compton Gallery in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
